STAND (Student Tech Alliance for New Defence)
Europe’s security needs
a new generation of engineers.
We want to make students a driving force in Nordic and European defence and security innovation.
Europe is rebuilding its defence, and engineers are part of the answer. STAND, the Student Tech Alliance for New Defence, is a student-led network based at DTU. We give technical students a way in, through talks, hackathons and project teams with the armed forces, industry and research.

From a first talk to your own project.
Each step leads to the next.

1. Hear the problems
Talks
Defence and industry experts share the problems they need engineers to solve.

2. Build a solution
Hackathons
Real problems from the people who face them, worked on in teams, with feedback from those who set them.

3. Keep going
Project teams
Keep working with the problem owner after the hackathon, towards a thesis, a job or a startup.
For partners: test ideas fast with technical students.
The armed forces, public authorities, companies and research groups bring a problem. Student teams take it on, with their feedback.
